Overview
The Mechanical Engineer V provides mechanical engineering expertise in the early stages of design. They also coordinate project design and analyze complex construction problems. This role will be involved primarily designing small form-factor plug in modules (PIM) compliant to VITA standards (VPX, VNX) for aerospace and defense applications.
Must be onsite in Huntsville, AL.
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Related Field of Study
- Minimum 10 years of experience in a specialized functional discipline
- Experience navigating layout tools (e.g., Altium, Expedition, Cadence)
- Understanding of end-to-end product design and manufacturing process starting from concept through production;
Manufacturing knowledge to include fabrication of custom mechanical parts as well as general PCB construction and CCA assembly process - Understanding of sensitive electronics handling and packaging
- Understanding of configuration management within a revision-controlled environment such as a file vault or PLM system
- Experience with mixed signal designs (digital and RF) with understanding of board level signal isolation and EMI shielding
- Preferred experience conducting environmental testing (thermal, shock, vibration, humidity, etc.) as well as test fixture design
- This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by either ITAR or EAR U.S. export laws. As a condition to this job offer, in order to be employed in this position, you must be able to obtain an U.S. Government export license(s), as required by law.
- Pay Range: $120,000 - $180,000 annually. Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate.
