As a Materials and Process Engineer, you will work on a broad range of projects in an advanced manufacturing environment, using the latest technology such as additive manufacturing and novel materials.
- Participate in and lead technical assignments related to a Parts, Materials and Processes in a high-reliability missile system.
- Help oversee PMP selection, qualification, testing, and failure analysis.
- Prepare technical and progress reports, prepare specifications, evaluate suppliers and analyze test reports.
- Coordinate with team engineers, internal/subcontractor interfaces, leadership and MDA customer.
- Oversee review of engineering drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs) to ensure compliance with program requirements.
- Provide Standard and Non-Standard requests to the program PMP Control Board to enable approved design releases.
- A self-starter who develops solutions to technical issues.
- A motivated individual who can work closely with a geographically dispersed team to resolve technical issues.
- Ability to handle shifting priorities, multiple projects and timeline pressure to meet deadlines.
- Willingness to mentor and teach junior engineers.
- Comfortable communicating in a variety of forums and with management and program representatives at several levels.
- Professional experience in the Aerospace Industry or a related Engineering field.
- Expertise in PMP Engineering or related areas such as specifications, product development, qualification/screening, receiving inspection.
- Formal coursework, training, or experience in the design and manufacture of aerospace hardware.
- Knowledge of engineering drawings, bill of materials, and program standardization processes.
- Demonstrated experience with corrosion mitigation, galvanic corrosion, coatings, platings, and finishes.
- Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Material Sciences, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Prior Material Review Board (MRB) authority and Failure Review Board (FRB) experience.
- Experience supporting the manufacture of aerospace hardware or missile systems.
- Independent work capability with demonstrated leadership and strong writing/communication skills.
- Active or current Secret clearance or higher.
