Employees work 9 out of every 14 days – totaling 80 hours worked – and have every other Friday off

• Performs and/or coordinates propulsion program tasks in conjunction with program management.
• Implements design and analysis tasks and oversees special studies and experiments under general direction.
• Coordinates ballistic, thermal, and structural analyses; performs post-test examination, analyses, and reporting; supports the program technical lead.
• Determines approaches to objectives, demonstrating a complete understanding of principles, concepts, and practices.
• Supports Engineering teams working on solid rocket motor development and production program tasks/problem resolution.
• Coordinates engineering work; manages technical progress, risk, schedule, and cost as needed.
• Monitors technical progress and interfaces with Program Management, customers, and other functional organizations to understand and resolve program technical issues.
• Provides technical consultation to Program Management and Business Development for activities such as writing white papers or presenting technical briefings to customers.
• Contributes to status reports to Engineering lead and management; participates in product team meetings.
• Conceives and plans projects involving development of new methods to attain objectives; provides direction in problem investigations and resolution across functional areas.
• Keeps current in relevant technologies and methods in support of project assignments.
• May provide technical guidance to less senior project engineers and project support personnel.
• May be assigned engineering Cost Account Management (CAM) duties.

• Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior Project Engineering experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior Project Engineering experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior Project Engineering experience.

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
• Knowledge of pertinent codes, rules, and regulations related to areas of engineering assignments.
• Use of engineering test equipment, CAD, and computer applications with various office and engineering software applications.
• Systems engineering principles in Requirements and Risk & Opportunity management.
• Principles of budget and schedule management for assigned project scope, such as Earned Value Management (EVM).
• Industry standards and practices.
• Understanding of rocket propulsion component(s) and theory of operation.
• Understanding and/or leading Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) process.
