This is a contract, on-site role, based in Huntsville, AL, for an HVAC Commissioning Technician. The responsibilities include conducting functional performance testing of HVAC systems, troubleshooting and resolving system issues, ensuring equipment operates efficiently, and documenting commissioning results. The technician will work closely with engineers and contractors to verify that equipment meets specified standards and client requirements. The role requires attention to detail, hands-on technical expertise, and effective communication with the project team.
Responsibilities- Conduct functional performance testing of HVAC systems
- Troubleshoot and resolve system issues
- Ensure equipment operates efficiently and meets performance criteria
- Document commissioning results and maintain detailed records
- Collaborate with engineers and contractors to verify equipment meets specified standards and client requirements
- Demonstrate attention to detail, hands-on technical expertise, and effective communication with the project team
- Proficiency in HVAC systems, building automation, energy management, and equipment controls
- Experience with functional performance testing and system troubleshooting
- Technical expertise in reading and interpreting engineering blueprints and mechanical drawings
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Ability to work effectively on-site and collaborate within a team environment
- HVAC certification, Associates degree in HVAC, mechanical engineering, or a related field (preferred, but not required)
- Prior experience in commercial or industrial HVAC systems (a plus)
