MDA Principle Systems Architecture Engineer
Base pay range: $145,000–$165,000 per year.
Location:
Huntsville, AL (on-site).
- Assess MDS threats, capability gaps, challenges, needs, and opportunities to develop potential system mitigations and capability evolutions at the architecture level.
- Support modeling & simulation (M&S) efforts related to the above, including analysis efforts on DoD High‑Performance Computing (HPC) systems.
- Develop analysis plans, execute M&S to implement those plans, assess analysis results, prepare analysis briefs/reports, and provide reviews of analysis products.
- Facilitate the definition/implementation of future concepts for modeling, simulation, and analysis.
- Act as a subject‑matter expert in future concept definition, architecture analyses, and reviewing preliminary results prior to delivery to customer.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Master’s Degree in a STEM field with 12+ years of experience in missile defense‑related or other complex, large DoD program/project.
- Active Secret clearance required with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI.
- Deep understanding of the current MDS architecture and future concepts.
- Experience in modeling, assessment, and evaluation of future missile defense architectures.
- Experience with MATLAB.
- Active TS/SCI clearance.
- Experience with the definition and use of advanced concepts and algorithms for the M&S of MDS architectures.
- Experience with M&S and analysis of MDS architectures involving both directed and kinetic energy weapons and other future concepts.
- Experience with HPC systems, Python, and Git.
- Experience with BMD Benchmark.
- Experience supporting systems engineering‑related architecture design activities.
- Ability to perform technology assessment & analysis and provide insight on the utility of potentially useful technologies.
- Specialized MDS analysis experience in threat characterization, trajectories, RF sensing/signatures, and/or EO/IR sensing/signatures.
- Proven ability to co‑author numerous reports and provide significant contributions to MDS studies and responses to Congress.
- Experience serving as a key advisor and collaborating on products that may go outside the Agency, such as DoD, Services, Combatant Commands, industry experts, etc.
$145,000–$165,000 per year. Actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, experience, education, and skill level.
