Structural Analyst

Overview

Qualis LLC is seeking an experienced Structural Analyst. In this role, you ll provide insight in the development, test, and certification of liquid propulsion systems for NASA s engine development programs at the Marshall Space Flight Center. You ll become part of a multi-discipline team with the charter to establish flight rationale for America s next generation of manned launch vehicles.

• Engage with senior engineers to provide insight on liquid engine structural elements and test fixtures, as well as producing independent analytical assessments.
• Develop and deliver reports and presentations, as well as collaborate with vendors and personnel from other NASA centers in the development of integrated flight hardware and associated ground test equipment.
• Assist with mentoring of junior engineers.

• BS from an ABET accredited institution in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Civil Engineering, or Engineering Mechanics and a minimum of 15 years of experience.
• Familiarity with one or more major commercial finite element code such as ANSYS, ABAQUS, or NASTRAN is required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products such as PowerPoint, Excel, and Word is required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.

• MS degree from an ABET accredited institution in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Civil Engineering, or Engineering Mechanics.
• Experience in the application of finite element methods, empirical closed-form structural analysis techniques, and the assessment of failure mechanisms is highly desired.
