Boeing Defense & Space (BDS) is hiring an Associate or Experienced Test Engineer to join the Patriot Advanced Capability‑3 (PAC‑3) and SLS (Space Launch System) teams located in Huntsville, AL
.

Position Responsibilities
  • Lead test planning, procedures, and test equipment/software to ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and company requirements.
  • Architect, design, and develop instrumentation data systems.
  • Integrate test hardware, software, and systems to achieve test requirements encompassing the full spectrum of testing.
  • Analyze, review, and validate test data.
  • Prepare and publish instrumentation reports as required.
  • Conduct research in test technologies to improve efficiency and capability.
  • Primary interface with other project or program team members, management, and technical staff to define and implement instrumentation engineering solutions.
  • Mentor and develop instrumentation engineering team.
  • Review and apply real‑time test anomaly troubleshooting and resolution of issues encountered during testing and operation. Research emerging technologies for potential applications to meet projected requirements.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or non‑US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
  • 3+ Years experience with open and closed‑loop feedback control systems (e.g., sequencing, ladder logic, PLC, PID) including custom software utilization (e.g., Lab View, Linux, C++, Visual Basic), control system theory, test fail‑safe techniques, system optimization techniques and/or compensation techniques.
  • 3+ Years experience with transducer and sensor physics with the ability to make hardware and system selections appropriate to measure various physical phenomena.
  • 3+ Years experience with data acquisition system attributes (e.g., range, accuracy, frequency responses, bandwidth) to define characteristics of measurements to be recorded.
  • Ability to follow and evaluate test procedures.
  • Understanding of mechanical design and the ability to decipher engineering drawings.
  • Experience working in an Electronic Component or systems integration lab test environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with creating and implementing overall Test Equipment Design Strategies.
  • Experience in making recommendations for technological investments.
  • 3+ Years experience with National Instrument’s Lab‑View and Test‑Stand software.
  • 3+ Years experience with the support development of automated test equipment, generate drawings, and support hardware fabrication, integration, and testing.
  • Understanding of circuits (PCBA) and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with common electrical test equipment (DMM, OSCOPE, Power Supplies).
  • Knowledge of CCA (Circuit Card Assembly) Production Test Equipment (Flying Probe, ESS, Functional Test, Thermal, Vibe, etc.).
Shift Work Statement

This position is for a B Shift (M‑Th; 4x10 – Starts at 4pm). Shift may be eligible for a shift differential and subject to availability.
