Automated Software Test Engineer – Full-Time with an ESOP Contractor | Onsite in Huntsville, AL
Schedule:
9x80 (Every Other Friday Off) | Position is off-post, not Redstone Arsenal
Software Test Engineer to support the GMD Weapon System (GWS) team on the Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) system. On the Ground Support Systems (GSS) IPT, you will be responsible for scheduling the tests for execution as well as monitoring, measuring, controlling, and reporting on the test progress, the product quality status, and the test results. Candidates must have the ability to adapt the test plan and compensate as needed to adjust for evolving conditions.
Responsibilities- Schedule and manage test events and system test execution timelines
- Monitor, measure, and report on test progress, product quality, and test results
- Analyze test data, identify issues, and adjust test plans based on evolving system behavior or mission changes
- Design and implement test plans, integration plans, and test procedures for system-level validation
- Interpret system requirements and apply test guidance to develop verification strategies
- Use GUI-based tools (such as Eggplant) for automated interface testing
- Develop and run scripts using Python and/or other scripting languages to support test automation
- Collaborate with teams using Git Lab or Bitbucket for code and configuration version control
- U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
- Active Secret Clearance required
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field and 2+ years of experience (Or Master’s degree)
- Experience designing, developing, implementing, and executing test plans, integration plans, and procedures to complete system-level integration testing
- Ability to interpret system-level requirements and create testing criteria
- Proficiency in C++ and scripting languages such as Python
- Experience with Eggplant or equivalent GUI testing tools
- Familiarity with Git Lab or Bitbucket for source control
- Active CompTIA Security+ Certification
- Experience with GMD or Missile Defense Agency (MDA) programs
- Working knowledge of Java
- Familiarity with Cameo Systems Modeler (MBSE tool)
- Active Top Secret Clearance preferred
