Fixed Wing Direct Support Engineer role at Avion Solutions, Inc.

• Serve as a technical advisor to the Fixed Wing Product Manager on all matters pertaining to worldwide operations, technical, and program strategic planning.
• Provide Technical, Logistical, Sustainment, and Programmatic support for International and Transport Aircraft (ITA).
• Act as the technical lead for a variety of Platform Working Groups, Technical Interchange Meetings (TIM), and Integrated Product Teams (IPT).
• Coordinate with technical counterparts and industry leaders, including Foreign Military Sales (FMS), Federal Aviation Administration, European Aviation Safety Agency, and Transport Canada.
• Interact with foreign entities and U.S. State Department officials concerning support of aircraft, engines, and avionics for FMS aircraft.
• Support and participate in the planning and management of system upgrades/modifications on a mixed fleet of military and civil derivative aircraft.
• Review and monitor Contractor Logistical Support (CLS).
• Review and analyze/evaluate data related to feasibility studies, lifecycle cost analysis, cost-performance trade-off analysis, affordability, test results, material risk assessment, and root cause analysis.
• Develop capability assessments and requirements packages.
• Prepare and develop budgetary estimates and provide guidance and assistance to junior and mid-level engineers in the development and preparation of their requirements/budgetary efforts.
• Prepare and deliver briefings to management describing program status, issues, analyses, findings, results, recommendations, and conclusions as appropriate.
• Plan, organize, and manage complex ITA projects simultaneously while providing innovative and executable options to resolve challenging technical and programmatic issues.

• Must have a BS in Engineering or FAA FAA-issued Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic certificate.
• Must have 6 years of experience with aviation/fixed-wing projects.
• Must be familiar with Federal Aviation Regulation (FAR) Part 145 - Repair Stations.
• Be familiar with FAR Part 91 - General Operating and Flight Rules.
• Must have experience with FAA Form 337 and Supplement Type Certificates.
• Must have experience with civil aircraft avionics modifications.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance and US Passport.
• Must be able to travel up to 20% of the time to both CONUS/OCONUS locations.

• The individual should be self-motivated with the ability to work both individually and within a team structure.
• Remain responsive and flexible to organizational and technical changes.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
