Propulsion Engineer, Combustion Devices, BE-3U

Blue Origin is seeking a Propulsion Engineer, Combustion Devices, BE-3U. This role sits in the Blue Origin Engines business unit and focuses on design, development, manufacturing, and testing of combustion devices for the BE-3U Engine. You will manage the complete product life-cycle from requirements through flight qualification, including design, manufacturing, test support, data reviews, non-conforming hardware processing, and technical reporting. Reporting to a Combustion Devices Manager within the BE-3U Combustion Devices team.

• Design and develop combustion devices (injectors, chambers, nozzles, thrusters, igniters, and related components) for the BE-3U Engine.
• Own combustion device life-cycle from requirements to flight qualification.
• Perform test data reviews and support manufacturing and testing activities.
• Process non-conforming hardware and write technical reports.
• Apply background in fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and structural mechanics to project work.

• Minimum of a B.S. degree in engineering (aerospace, mechanical, chemical) or physics.
• Familiarity with a variety of combustion devices.
• 2+ years of industry experience in a related field.
• CAD experience.
• Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Familiarity with data analysis and data processing.

• M.S. in engineering or higher.
• Strong fundamentals in propulsion, fluids, thermodynamics, and combustion analysis.
• Knowledge of design process and fabrication techniques for combustion devices.
• Experience with Creo, Windchill.
• Knowledge of Python or other coding languages for data processing tools.

• Relocation provided

• Compensation range varies; WA applicants: $96,310.00 - $
