Northrop Grumman Strategic Deterrent Systems division is seeking a Test Engineer / Principal Test Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Roy, UT, Colorado Springs, CO, or Huntsville, AL, and will support test and checkout activities supporting the Sentinel, formerly Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD), program.

What You’ll Get To Do: (Essential Functions)
  • Support the development of test requirements and detailed integration test plans, test procedures, test readiness reviews (TRRs), test data and test reports
  • Execution of qualification and acceptance testing per requirements, plans and procedures
  • Execute tests, manage and prioritize problems/failures
  • Participate in internal and customer test planning working groups
  • Design, develop, and implement testing methods and equipment
  • Write and deliver test presentations in support of program reviews and customer delivery (CDRL) development
  • Compile data and define changes required in test equipment, test procedures, or new test requirements
  • Troubleshoot both test and prototype issues & create Test Discrepancy Reports to document issues
  • Collaborate with systems engineers, testing houses, development engineers and other stakeholders involved in the testing process.
  • Review test plans, procedures, and reports; witness testing as the Cognizant Engineer
  • Participate in technical exchange meetings, interfacing with customers (internal/external) and contributing to a broad range of program deliverables

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

You’ll Bring These

Qualifications:

(Basic Qualifications)

Basic Qualifications Test Engineer: (T02)

  • 2 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree;
    Master's degree 0 years of relevant experience.; 4 additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

Basic Qualifications Principal Test Engineer: (T03)

  • 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree;
    Master's degree 3 years of relevant experience.;
    PhD 1 year relevant experience.; 4 additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • At least (2) years of demonstrated experience in writing Electrical/Mechanical component testing documentations (i.e. Troubleshooting, test plans, procedures, reports)

Basic Qualifications

Required:

(Both Levels)

  • U.S. Citizen with an ability to obtain and maintain U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance; (must be current & within scope at time of application)
  • An ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet its business need
  • Familiarity with systems engineering integration and test principles and processes.
