T2S Solutions is seeking an experienced Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) Technician (Radio Frequency Systems) to support the assembly, integration, test, and operation of RF systems across both spacecraft and ground segments in HWIL environments. This role is central to ensuring reliable communications, link performance, and subsystem functionality for a fast-paced satellite architecture program. The ideal candidate has hands-on expertise working with RF hardware, test equipment, cabling, and high-frequency components in aerospace or similarly demanding environments.
Responsibilities- Set up, operate, and maintain RF test equipment including spectrum analyzers, VNAs, signal generators, power meters, and oscilloscopes
- Assemble, inspect, and test RF components, including antennas, harnesses, wave guides, LNAs, filters, modulators/demodulators, and transceiver units
- Support integration and test activities for spacecraft RF subsystems and ground station equipment
- Perform RF path characterization, including S-parameter measurement, insertion loss, VSWR, and link performance verification
- Assist in end-to-end communications system tests, including command/telemetry paths, uplink/downlink chain checks, and over-the-air test events
- Troubleshoot RF hardware issues, cable faults, and unexpected signal behavior
- Maintain test setups, lab infrastructure, and calibration records to ensure accurate and reliable testing
- Work with engineers to execute test procedures, validate system requirements, and support data collection and reporting
- Participate in environmental and functional test campaigns (vibration, TVAC, EMI/EMC) as required
- Support rapid prototype builds, hardware bring-up activities, and iterative system development
- Bachelors degree or 6-8 years of equivalent experience in RF technology, electromagnetic spectrum, electronics, or a related discipline and 3+ years of hands‑on experience with RF systems, preferably in space, aerospace, or high‑reliability environments
- Strong proficiency using RF test equipment and interpreting measurements
- Experience assembling and testing RF cables, connectors, and high‑frequency components
- Understanding of RF fundamentals, impedance matching, and signal integrity
- Ability to follow detailed procedures and work closely with engineers and other technicians
- Strong documentation, communication, and organizational skills
- Must possess an active security clearance - Secret (required) Top Secret (preferred and must be willing and able to obtain)
- Experience with satellite communications systems, ground stations, or spacecraft RF subsystems
- Familiarity with S-band, X-band, Ka-band, L-band and other high-frequency systems
- Experience in EMI/EMC testing, shielding practices, and troubleshooting interference
- Background in manufacturing or prototype assembly of aerospace hardware
- Experience with automated test setups or scripting tools
