This role is part of Blue Origin corporate functions, providing centralized support across Blue Origin business unit teams, functions, and locations. Operations: the role falls within Blue Origin Operations, which includes Integrated Supply Chain, Facilities, and Security, and covers Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

Early Career Pathways
  • Direct Hire:
    Multiple positions available across our Business Units. You will be matched with an appropriate engineering team based on your skillset and experience and our current business needs.
  • New Graduate Rotation Program:
    One‑year development program with three four‑month rotations in fields such as New Shepard, New Glenn, Blue Engines, Lunar Permanence, In‑Space Systems, Advanced Concepts and Enterprise Engineering, and Operations. Upon completion you’ll collaborate with the Program Manager to determine the best team fit for your ongoing career.

Responsibilities
  • Translate engineering intent, drawings, and configurations into fully functional hardware ready for test, qualification, and flight.
  • Improve quality, reduce cost, and optimize build sequence throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Create, interpret, and modify work instructions and routings to convey procedures to technicians and trigger material planning.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of a B.S. degree or higher in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, aerospace engineering, or related field.
  • Earned degree within the last year and able to start by Fall 2026.
  • Demonstrated ability in component fabrication, precision assembly, and testing using a variety of methods, techniques, and materials.
  • Ability to interpret engineering models, drawings, specifications, written work instructions, and test procedures.
  • Relevant internship/co‑op and/or hands‑on experience that demonstrates development of technical skills as well as leadership qualities.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team on rapid development programs.
  • Flexible and adaptable mindset.
  • Self‑driven with the ability to seek out requirements with minimal direction.
Desired
  • Experience in fabrication, machining, and rate production, including hands‑on skills with processes like brazing or machining.
  • Proficiency with industry‑standard CAD tools (such as Creo, CATIA, or Solid Works) to design or interpret engineering drawings and models.
  • Understanding of core concepts including torque theory, strength of materials, static/dynamic loads, and vibrations.
  • Participation in production flow and process optimization projects, including early lifecycle prototyping and development.
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.
  • Ability to write clear work instructions and interpret technical documents and engineering drawings.
  • Familiarity with design and use of tooling in manufacturing settings.
  • Involvement in assessing and optimizing manufacturing processes for efficiency and quality.
  • Basic coding ability (e.g., Python) to support process automation or data analysis.
