FPGA Design Engineer, Mid-Level

• Design, implement, integrate, and test digital systems specifically regarding FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) technology. Develop Verilog, VHDL, and HDL designs for FPGAs.
• Modify and/or design special purpose, custom RF System on a Chip (RFSoC) boards for real-time, hardware‑in‑the‑loop (HWIL) missile integration.
• Troubleshooting and test support as needed.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution required.
• 3-5 years of demonstrated experience is required. Highly qualified engineers with related work experience may be considered.
• Xilinx RFSoC experience is preferred, and/or experience with high‑speed ADCs/DACs and FPGAs.
• Strong FPGA design experience in VHDL or Verilog.
• Strong DSP background using FPGAs. Digital filter design and DDS experience required.
• Experience using PCIe, DDR Ram, multi‑gigabit serial, and ethernet protocols with FPGAs and microprocessors.
• Knowledge of basic serial communication protocols, UART, I2C, SPI, 8B10B.
• Mixed signal PCB design experience.
• Proficient with the use of basic test equipment, oscilloscopes, function generators, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers.
• U.S. Citizenship with Active Secret Security clearance required.

• Employees in these positions will function in a general office/cubicle setting environment, and laboratory/testing setting using standard office equipment and various electronic testing equipment, including a computer, telephone, printers, video equipment, computer software and testing equipment.
• Will interact in a general office setting environment with various personnel; participate in meetings and contribute to team success; deliver timely results and produce reports; receive and communicate information; may include telework.
• May function in a specialized laboratory/testing environment using electronic testing equipment, computer software and complex systems.
• May move and test equipment of various weights. Laboratory environment may require use of protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to safety glasses and protective hearing and footwear.
• May be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization due to business demands; travel occasionally for assigned work.
