Lead System Engineer

Summary

T2S Solutions is currently seeking a Lead Systems Engineer to join our Space Systems Development team in Huntsville, AL. As a Lead Systems Engineer with T2S, you will work closely with payload subsystem lead engineers to develop with deep experience in space systems, aerospace engineering, and end-to-end satellite architectures. This role requires broad technical leadership across complex space and ground segments, rapid design cycles, and close collaboration with both internal engineering teams and external mission partners.

The ideal candidate is systems-minded, mission-driven, and comfortable operating in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.

• Lead system-level architecture development for satellite constellations, spacecraft subsystems, and their supporting ground infrastructure
• Define, integrate, and manage requirements across space, ground, communication links, payloads, and operations
• Rapidly design, prototype, and iterate system concepts to support accelerated development and launch timelines
• Coordinate across multidisciplinary internal teams (software, hardware, mission operations, payload, comms, etc.) to ensure system coherence and mission readiness
• Work directly with external partners including vendors, government stakeholders, integrators, and launch providers to align technical interfaces and program objectives
• Develop and maintain system-level models, simulations, and interface control documents (ICDs)
• Oversee verification and validation (V&V) planning and execution for both ground and space components
• Support mission operations from concept through on-orbit deployment, including anomaly resolution and performance monitoring
• Drive risk identification and mitigation strategies across the full system lifecycle

• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field and 8+ years of experience in aerospace or space systems engineering
• Proven experience with satellite architectures, including spacecraft buses, payload integration, comms systems, and ground stations
• Hands-on experience with requirements management, system architecture, and V&V for complex systems
• Strong understanding of space-to-ground link architecture, mission planning, and operations
• Ability to lead cross-functional engineering teams and work collaboratively with external organizations
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey complex technical topics to diverse stakeholders

• Experience with LEO satellite constellations or multi-spacecraft mission architectures
• Experience with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) tools is a plus
• Experience with launch integration, mission assurance, or operational planning
• Understanding of software-defined payloads, RF systems, or autonomous mission operations
