Mid-Level Mechanical Engineer – TSC – Huntsville, AL

This position supports TSC’s Radar & Precision Weapons Development Operation.

TSC’s Radar and Precision Weapons Development Division provides products and services in the areas of radar, communication systems, sensors, antennas, and other electronics systems to the missile, radar/sensor system, communications, control systems, data acquisition, and signal processing markets. The company has developed products ranging from chip‑level, application‑specific, integrated circuits (ASIC) to complete, turnkey radar and communication systems. TSC has a state‑of‑the‑art hardware capability respected by customers in government and industry, and provides full‑spectrum systems engineering support including theoretical analysis, requirements generation, interface control, and test planning, execution, and data analysis.

• Design, develop, modify, and evaluate electronic packaging for use in Mil/Aero applications.
• Model components and systems and create drawing packages for fabrication.
• Apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) techniques on new and existing products to produce optimal design and manufacturing solutions.
• Support vibration and thermal testing.
• Maintain responsibility of the product from concept to production.
• Interface with customers and vendors to ensure product/component performance meets customer specifications and appropriate standards.

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
• 3–7 years of comparable industry experience in analysis, design, and packaging of electronics hardware and/or systems.
• Capable of balancing product design for manufacturability and cost attributes against product form‑fit‑function and thermal attributes to achieve the best mix for each unique product and customer requirement.
• Basic understanding of machining and electronic system manufacturing processes.
• Understanding and application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Experience designing in Solid Works.
• Ability to read and generate mechanical drawings.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance.
• U.S. citizenship required.

• Proficiency with Solid Works, Solid Edge, Pro‑E, or other 3D modeling software.
• Experience with military electronics packaging including RF, microwave, analog or digital assemblies and sub‑assemblies.
• Knowledge of PLM, PDM, and configuration control processes.
• Knowledge of military finishes.
• Familiarity with dynamic and thermal testing.
