Position:
Professional Engineer – System Power, Analog and Controls
Location:
Huntsville, Alabama (Onsite). Date posted: 2025‑09‑12. Requires U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a Secret clearance.
Design, analyze (including thermal considerations), simulate, and test power conversion circuitry using standard non‑isolated topologies such as buck, boost, and buck‑boost, as well as modules and discrete designs. Guide ECAD personnel through PWB layout of power circuitry and technical drawing creation. Perform design work within the bounds of a given schedule and present reviews of technical data to program leadership and technical staff.
QualificationsYou Must Have
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics).
- Minimum two (2) years of professional experience in design, analysis, simulation, or test with linear converters.
- Experience designing low‑level electronic components.
- Experience with non‑isolated converter topologies: buck, boost, buck‑boost.
- Experience with analog electronic design and analysis, including FET, BJT, and Op‑amp circuits.
- U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. government‑issued security clearance.
- Lab experience specific to power electronics and/or controls electronics.
- Experience with software tools for electrical circuit simulation and/or printed circuit board layout.
- Experience with fundamental power conversion concepts, components, and techniques.
- Experience with commonly used power converter and/or motor drive control schemes.
- Experience with circuit simulators such as SIMPLIS, Saber, or Mathcad.
- Experience with military specifications.
