This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.
ResponsibilitiesAs part of a hardworking team of specialists, technicians, and engineers, you will lead the effort to deliver new engine test stand infrastructure at Blue Origin. In this role, you will manage a multidisciplinary team responsible for the design, procurement, construction, and commissioning of mechanical, structural, fluids, control, and electrical systems. Your team will also handle safety, site coordination, and permitting.
They will develop integrated costs and schedules and ensure project execution.

Being at the heart of Blue Origin operations, the West Texas Site in Van Horn, TX offers eligible employee's additional attractive financial incentives to supplement their competitive base earnings, including a living allowance and relocation assistance. Eligibility for these additional benefits is based on the employee's ability to permanently relocate to Van Horn, TX, or travel to Van Horn from another Blue location a minimum of 50% of the time.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Over 10 years of experience in project and/or construction management.
- More than 3 years of experience in people management.
- Proven experience in leading teams through design, construction, and commissioning of complex projects.
- Understanding of fluid, mechanical, control, and electrical system design and construction.
- Ability to foster a culture of skill development and career growth.
- Capability to translate organizational vision into practical strategies and make priority decisions to drive results, simplify designs, and meet deadlines.
- Experience in resource management, including budget and headcount planning and execution.
- Proficient in project management, including Estimate at Completion (EAC) and annual planning.
- Schedule development experience for complex integrated facilities.
- Experience in construction management, including procurement, contracts, quality, safety, and project closeout.
- Proficient in risk and opportunities management.
- Organized, self-starter, able to break down complex problems into manageable tasks.
- Excellent judgment and comfortable making high-quality, high-velocity decisions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to adapt and excel in a dynamic and growing environment.
- Effective leadership and mentoring skills.
- Ability to travel to 50% for supporting offsite teams, various construction locations, supplier management, etc.
- Experience in complex ground system design and related operations.
- Experience in industrial construction projects.
- Knowledge of mechanical and fluid system components (e.g., valves, regulators, pumps for cryogenics, propellants).
- Familiarity with building codes, ASME, and NFPA standards.
- Certified Project Management Professional.
- Knowledge of standard installation and fabrication methods of piping systems (e.g., pipe stock, fittings, connections, welding).
- Experience with Newforma Project Center.
