Become a part of something IMPACT-ful! Ground Missile Defense (GMD) is the heart of the Missile Defense System and a key element of our nation's defense against ballistic missile attacks. The GMD Weapon System processes data from multiple sensors to identify and characterize the inbound ballistic missile threat, plans the best defensive solution, and launches the intercepting missiles to negate the threat.
We are hiring multi-level Engineers in Huntsville, Alabama!! Some of the these exciting Ground Missile Defense Engineer Roles include:

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline
• Minimum of two (2) years relevant engineering experience.
• Active U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance
Desired
Skills:
• Master's degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline
• C, C++, Java, Python, Ada, GoLang, Cython, Bash, Java script, SQL, Mongo DB
• Recent GMD GS/GWS model development
• Working in an Agile environment
• Developing code in a Dev Ops environment using Bitbucket or Git Hub
• Windows/Unix OS environment experience
• Developing software in Object Oriented programing language
• Software development for embedded systems
• Writing/reviewing code in Ada, C++, Java & Python
• Review & verification of system level software requirements
• Reliability & Maintainability Engineering experience.
• Security+ Certification or higher
• Cloud technologies and platforms such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Google Cloud
• Kubernetes
• Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment (CI/CD)
• Software test execution
• Microsoft Office Tools
• Reading & understanding of technical data
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Strong technical writing and oral communication skills.
• Able to work independently or as a member of a team
• Good interpersonal skills
Security Clearance Statement:
This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Work Schedules:
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
