Command and Data Handling Engineer (Must be US Citizen)

This position provides engineering support to the design, development, and testing of a Command and Data Handling (C&DH) system for a rocket that is the cornerstone of an exciting space program in the new era of human exploration beyond Earth’s orbit. C&DH focuses on the development and integration of flight computers and data routers that control the flow of commands and telemetry throughout the rocket avionics system.

• Support component testing (e.g., flight computer)
• Conduct system analyses and analyze test and vendor data
• Verify requirements and coordinate with component vendors and the NASA customer
• Write reports and resolve issues
• Work with other C&DH engineers to develop the system and ensure the design meets requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Computer Science or related field
• Minimum three years of experience with aerospace avionics, such as flight computers and data routers
• Ability to obtain a DoD secret clearance
• Must be a U.S. citizen

• Knowledge of data exchange protocols, such as MIL-STD-1553, RS-422, and Ethernet
• An understanding of the internal operations of computers and routers
• Ability to write scripts in Python and/or MATLAB
• Experience with the systems engineering and integration process, from requirements development through product deployment
• Active DoD secret clearance
