Role DescriptionThis is a full-time, on-site role located in Huntsville, AL, for a Provost and Chief Academic Officer. The Provost will oversee and lead the university s academic programs, ensuring excellence in teaching, research, and service across all departments. Responsibilities include developing and implementing academic policies, managing budgeting and resource planning, fostering faculty development, and advancing institutional accreditation and strategic goals. The Provost will collaborate with university leadership to uphold the institution s mission and vision.
Qualifications- Proven leadership skills in academic administration, policy development, and strategic planning.
- Expertise in program development, accreditation processes, and assessment methodologies.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with diverse faculty, staff, and students.
- Demonstrated ability in budgeting, financial management, and resource allocation for academic programs.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and diverse academic community aligned with the mission of Oakwood University.
- Doctoral degree or terminal degree from an accredited institution is required.
- Significant teaching, scholarly, and administrative experience in higher education.
- An understanding of and commitment to the mission and values of a faith-based institution is essential.
