Leadership SummaryThe Camp Unit Leader will infuse and model the Girl Scout Law into their everyday work to fulfill the mission of building girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place.
Position SummaryThe Camp Unit Leader is accountable for providing supervision of all Unit Counselors. Responsible for a unit that may include 1-3 sessions including all administrative responsibilities.
Major Accountabilities- Leads unit staff daily review meetings
- Create a weekly break schedule for unit staff
- Reviewthe camper’s daily health needs
- Schedules activities for each unit
- Complete daily and weekly unit documentation
- Complete mid and end-of-season evaluations for unit staff
- Attends orientation week
- Attends staff meetings
- Participates in camp activities as needed
- Follows camp rules and policies
- Maintains a positive attitude and professionalism with campers, parents, volunteers, and staff

- Camp Staff member experience preferred
- Supervisory experience preferred
- Experience working with youth
- Knowledge of Girl Scout Leadership Experience preferred
- First Aid and CPR certification preferred
- Membership with GSUSA and subscribes to the principles of the Girl Scout Movement
- Demonstrate ability to successfully manage multiple priorities, work independently, and meet deadlines.
- Strong human relations skills and ability to work well with others of diverse cultures
- Ability to exercise good judgment
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Solution-driven with the ability to effectively problem-solve
- Ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds
- Ability to bend, stoop, and sit for extended periods
- Ability to work outdoors in extreme temperatures for extended periods
- Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings
- Flexibility to live on campsite during camp season
