Electronics Technician
Location:
Huntsville AL, 1 Tranquility Base, Huntsville, AL 35805, USA.
- Daily inspections of Rocket Center equipment to maintain effective and efficient operation, safety, and appearance.
- Equipment includes but is not limited to technical, hydraulic, electro‑mechanical, computer peripherals, robotics.
- Repair / modify computer hardware, software and networking.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of Rocket Center leadership requests.
- Complete documentation related to job activities.
- Design, fabricate, inspect, install, and repair Rocket Center equipment and simulators.
- Maintenance of technical, hydraulic, electro‑mechanical, computer peripherals, robotics equipment.

QualificationsRequired Education
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a 2-year technical degree in electronics (Industrial Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or similar).
- Software programming languages and other job‑related technical/mechanical experience will be considered.
Required Experience
- Leadership experience in troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing electronic and electro‑mechanical devices.
- Ability to use the tools, equipment, and materials of this job profession effectively and safely.
- Experience troubleshooting and inspecting equipment.
- Experience with Windows operating systems.
- Experience with computer hardware assembly, software programming, computer networking, 3D modeling software, machining, and robotics.
Physical Requirements
- Walking and climbing (stairs, ladders) to access work‑related areas.
- Pushing, carrying, and lifting equipment weighing up to 50 pounds to waist height.
- Bending, kneeling, and reaching to maintain and repair simulators and exhibits.
- Sight, reading, wrist movements, feeling to inspect, maintain, and repair simulators and exhibits, to operate tools of the trade.
- Talking, and hearing to communicate with employees, guests, and contractors regarding simulators and exhibits.
- Driving skills to operate equipment such as forklifts, man lifts, and carts.
- Comfortable working at heights of up to 50 feet.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- Indoors in a climate‑controlled building environment, as well as outdoors.
- Work areas subject to dust, noise, and hazards related to the profession.
