The Accounting Specialist will perform a variety of accounts payable transactions and payment distributions to meet monthly deadlines and closings. This role will also assist the accounting team with other various accounting tasks and projects. He/She will work closely with other departments to resolve issues with accounting tasks and processes.
Responsibilities
* Process vouchers through Parker's accounts payable system for invoices and check requests.
* Provide customer service to plant personnel, other Parker divisions and suppliers.
* This role investigating issues and answering questions and directs questions to appropriate resources.
* Assist Accounting Team with tasks and special projects.
* Compares data contained in a variety of financial records in order to detect errors and discrepancies
* Coordinates accounts payable activities with the purchasing function.
* Ensure invoices and entries are properly approved, documented, and recorded as incurred.
* Perform daily and month end accounts payable reconcilations
* Ensure all services and expense items are properly accrued monthly.
* Participate in annual physical inventory
* Completes audit stamp function for proper assessment of sales and use tax
* Maintains and enhances lean office culture at the Division.
* Contribute to HPT and participate in team-meetings.
* Wear proper PPE and follow all set safety guidelines
* All other duties as assigned by Supervisor Management designee
Qualifications
Education, Credentials and Previous
Experience:
* High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. Associates Degree Preferred
* 2-4 years experience in accounts payable function
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Must be able to multi-task and prioritize workload
* Must be well organized
* Must be able to work and participate in a team environment

* Ability to read, comprehend, and follow job related instructions or standard work process, subject to all applicable state and federal laws.

Skills:
* Perform tasks with little supervision
* Able to effectively work on and manage multiple tasks daily, communicate professionally with co-workers, show flexibility to learn multiple jobs within the department, and show aptitude to perform essential job functions listed above.
