Job Description:
The Assistant Coach for Marshall University Women’s Soccer supports the program’s daily operations and its overall success. This role assists the Head Coach in coaching, player development, recruiting, and game preparation. The position requires leadership, organization, and strong communication skills to foster a high‑performance environment aligned with the university’s academic and athletic values. Responsibilities include on‑field training, scouting, opponent analysis, and student‑athlete mentorship, contributing to the program’s competitive success within the Sun Belt Conference and NCAA Division I.
- Assist the Head Coach in designing, implementing, and evaluating team training sessions.
- Lead set-piece planning and scouting, including opponent analysis and preparation for both attacking and defensive situations.
- Provide technical and positional coaching, including individualized feedback and performance reviews through video analysis.
- Contribute to game analysis, opponent reports, and tactical preparation for upcoming fixtures.
- Support the development of a high‑performance environment aligned with the program’s vision and competitive goals.

Required Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree
Experience:
One year of soccer coaching or playing experience at the collegiate level; excellent communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Education:
Master’s Degree
Experience:
Experience in coaching, business or logistical background; knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations; candidates with experience as a Goalkeeper Coach are preferred.
