Co manager, Retail, Retail & Store Manager

Position Title

Co-Manager / Manager-level responsibilities within the Grocery Department.

Houchens Food Group, Inc. is seeking a Co-Manager for the Grocery department. The role supports the store manager in operating the store according to company standards and policies, supervising store employees, and ensuring safety, security and sanitation programs are followed.

• Assist the store manager in ensuring store operations meet company standards.
• Directly supervise sales workers in the store.
• Perform management-related duties such as purchasing, budgeting, accounting, and personnel work as needed.
• Direct and supervise employees engaged in sales, inventory, cash handling, and customer service.
• Inventory stock and reorder when inventory drops to specified levels.
• Maintain records of purchases, sales, and requisitions.
• Enforce safety, health, and security rules; ensure cleanliness and sanitation.
• Ensure employees understand and follow company policies and standards.
• Monitor performance and take corrective action; train and develop staff; hire, evaluate, promote and terminate employees as necessary.
• Assist in budgeting, vendor procedures, and store expense control; plan and monitor shift schedules; enforce loss prevention measures.
• Open and close the store; complete shift-checkout and office reporting as required.
• Maintain accurate payroll records and timekeeping; verify deposits and payroll close-out.
• Order and maintain merchandise to prevent stockouts; build sellable displays; manage perishable items per company standards.
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain a favorable customer image through supervision and department upkeep.
• Comply with all city, county, state and federal regulations.
• Perform other job-related tasks as requested by management.

  One to two years of related experience
