Overview
Cabell Huntington Hospital is seeking a casual Patient Care Assistant to work with our team in the 4 South Department
.
The Patient Care Assistant works in a supporting role to nursing by conducting patient care activities. Applicants provide direct and indirect non-professional nursing care under nursing or medical supervision. Primarily this includes but is not limited to performing duties such as:
- Cleaning
- Taking vital signs
- Obtaining lab specimens
- Charting
- Escorting patients
- Assisting with activities of daily living
- Managing clerical duties
- Ordering and receiving supplies
The Clinical Observation Unit can have a broad range of adult patients ambulatory and non-ambulatory, that meet initial criteria for observation. The department will serve to provide efficient protocol-based care to patients with well-defined diagnosis or presenting symptoms such as chest pain, COPD, asthma & congestive heart failure.
Qualifications- Documentation of an 80% or higher score on the Medical Terminology exam is required for consideration.
