Overview
Cabell Huntington Hospital is seeking a full-time Patient Care Assistant to work with our team in the Clinical Observation Unit
.
The Clinical Observation Unit serves a broad range of adult patients, ambulatory and non-ambulatory, that meet initial criteria for observation. The department provides efficient protocol-based care to patients with well-defined diagnoses or presenting symptoms such as chest pain, COPD, asthma, and congestive heart failure.
Responsibilities- The Patient Care Assistant works in a supporting role to nursing by conducting patient care activities.
- Provide direct and indirect non-professional nursing care under nursing or medical supervision.
- Perform duties such as cleaning, taking vital signs, obtaining lab specimens, charting, escorting patients, and assisting with activities of daily living.
- Manage clerical duties and order and receive supplies.
- To be considered, candidates must provide documentation of an 80% or higher score on the Medical Terminology exam.
