Position: Community Public Health Dental Hygienist I

Overview

Community Public Health Dental Hygienist I – Join to apply for the Community Public Health Dental Hygienist I role at USC Marshall School of Business.

The purpose of this position is to provide direct service to patients in various public health settings, assist with the implementation of oral health programs focused on education, outreach, research and treatment, and serve as the West Virginia representative to the OPEN network. The person in this position will work with a team of other professionals and organizations to carry out the following responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Provide direct care services to patients in public health settings (Recovery Point, Ebenezer Medical Outreach Clinic, Health Right Mobile, MU Dental, MARCO school-based program, and other sites as needed).

Participate in required calls, events and convenings as a representative for West Virginia.

Conduct tobacco cessation education and outreach in various venues as determined.

Conduct lectures to GPR Dental Residents.

Conduct oral health education, outreach and surveillance.

Train non-dental health care providers in the most recent recommendations and best practices focused on oral health delivery and education.

Coordinate educational programs for a wide variety of agencies, professionals, and groups using an evidence-based program with measurable outcomes for the improvement of oral health across the lifespan.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications / Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities

Active WV Dental Hygiene license with a public health certification. Tobacco Treatment Specialist Certification. Grant writing experience. CITI research certification.
