Assistant Professor – Department of History, Marshall University

Marshall University invites applications for a nine‑month tenure‑track Assistant Professor position specializing in 20th‑century American history beginning in August 2026. The department seeks candidates who demonstrate excellence in teaching, research, and service and who can contribute to the university’s general education curriculum.

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in 20th‑century American history and in the department’s United States history sequence.
• Teach methodology courses required for the History major.
• Participate in the online History B.A. program.
• Contribute to the university’s general education curriculum.

• Required Qualifications
• Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in History.
• At least one year of teaching experience.
• Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in 20th‑century American history.
• Publication record in relevant historical research.

• Work week is 37.5 hours.
• Approximately two weeks of Winter Break off in December.
