Premium Outpatient PTA

Parkview Health System Inc. is hiring a Premium Outpatient Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to provide professional patient care and implement treatment plans at Parkview Huntington Hospital in Huntington, IN.

Provides professional patient care and practices physical therapy by implementing and documenting treatment following evaluation by the physical therapist. Treats patients in accordance with the order from the physician and the plan of care established by the physical therapist and provides treatment through many therapeutic procedures and assistive devices to maximize functional potential in all aspects of the patient’s life. Implements individualized treatment plans, collaborates with the physical therapist for updates and revisions, instructs patients, families, and caregivers in therapeutic exercises and home programs, and completes documentation and billing promptly.

All care is in accordance with hospital philosophy, the Indiana State Practice Act, the American Physical Therapy Association, and The Joint Commission.

• Education:
  
  Must have an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program.
• Licensure:
  Must hold or be eligible to obtain a PTA license in the state where services will be provided within 90 days of employment.
• Certification: CPR certification required within 90 days of employment. Must maintain all certifications and licensure per expiration dates.
• Membership:
  American Physical Therapy Association membership is preferred.
• Driving Requirements:
  • If assigned to drive a company vehicle, a valid driver’s license is required.
  • If driving a personal vehicle, proof of insurance is required in addition to a valid driver’s license.
• Experience:
  
  Clinical experience from an educational training program required; additional work experience preferred but not mandatory.
• Physical Requirements:
  
  Must be able to lift 50 pounds, assist with 100 pounds, and may need to push up to 300 pounds.
• Skills:
  
  Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Flexibility:
  Must be willing to work at other locations as assigned.
