• Cashier/Checker is responsible for being visible and actively greeting, engaging and assisting customers.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Understand the Point of Sale (POS) system and handle various tenders such as Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, Rain checks, coupons, and loyalty offers according to company policy.
• Adhere to company policies on cash shortages/overages and restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies and follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
• Stay current with promotions and adhere to food safety regulations.
• Follow safety procedures, report unsafe conditions, and perform equipment inspections.
• Create a welcoming environment, assist customers with product questions, and comply with laws and guidelines.
• Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment, manage conflicts, act with integrity, and seek assistance when needed.
• Support and assist diverse customer groups, including minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
