Range: $16.90 / DOE
PurposeThe host/ess greets guests upon arrival, seats them promptly, bids farewell, and invites them back upon departure.
Duties & Responsibilities- Greet guests immediately upon arrival.
- Inform guests that their table is ready and invite them to the table.
- Carry guests’ drinks from the bar area to their seats and transfer their tab to the table if needed.
- Pull out chairs and tables to facilitate seating.
- Answer calls promptly and politely.
- Use all tables on a rotation to maximize turnaround and maintain a smooth flow.
- Keep the host stand organized and stocked.
- Move furniture as directed by management (tables, chairs, bar stools, banquettes, etc.).
- Tour the restaurant periodically to identify any empty tables.
- Respond to guest concerns or complaints and resolve them while maintaining a positive attitude, escalating to management when necessary.
- Complete opening, running, and closing side‑work duties as assigned.
- Assist teammates with side‑work duties upon request.
- Perform additional assigned tasks as necessary.
- High School Diploma preferred.
- Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- 18+ years of age.
- Possession of all state‑required work cards or ability to obtain them.
- Minimum of one (1) year related experience.
- Familiarity with Opentable.
- Proper lifting techniques.
- Guest relations skills.
- Sanitation and safety awareness.
- Safe alcohol service.
- Full‑service restaurant operations experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively and assertively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Work indoors and/or outdoors, exposed to hot or cold surfaces, steam, and wet floors.
- Work in a noise‑heavy environment that varies with guest volume.
- Fast‑paced, high‑volume, full‑service restaurant.
- Work varied shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Walk long periods of time.
- Stand for long periods of time.
- Use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- Repeat the same movements for long periods of time.
- Understand the speech of another person.
- Speak clearly so listeners can understand.
- Push and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
