- Delivery of patient care
- Personal care (ADL) including bathing, body mechanics, nutrition, elimination, safety, special procedures, housekeeping, and participation in interdisciplinary team conferences
- Performing sterile dressing for wounds over 48 hours old; wound irrigation; ostomy care or ostomy irrigation; insertion of urinary catheter limited to replacement of an existing catheter once the Nursing assessment is completed; oxygen therapy including room set‑up and monitoring of flow‑rate
- Assisting with I.V. fluid and medication management, nutritional activities, suctioning, tracheostomy care, and documentation in accordance with HPCCR guidelines
- Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with team members, identifying specific patient/caregiver needs, referring to appropriate members, and ensuring professional development and current licensure, CPR certification, and CEU requirements
- Other duties as required, including cleaning patient rooms, ensuring facility cleanliness, and using appropriate protective equipment
- High School diploma preferred, plus training/certification in a related field required
- Certified Nursing Assistant; maintain current listing status required
- NA must be in good standing with NC Department of Health and Human Services
- Minimum 1 year experience required; experience in home care, working with terminally ill and/or geriatrics preferred
