We’re a boutique CPA and advisory firm based in the Lake Norman area outside Charlotte. Our clients operate coast-to-coast and, in some cases, internationally. Our work spans tax compliance, accounting, advisory, and fractional CFO services.

THE ROLE

We are experiencing continued growth in our tax and advisory services and are seeking a Tax Associate to join our firm.

This role is well-suited for someone who:

• Is proficient in tax preparation beyond data entry
• Can take raw client information and translate it into clean, meaningful inputs
• Is comfortable working independently without constant oversight

This position can remain part-time for someone seeking flexibility, or it can expand significantly for the right person. We are intentional about giving motivated associates more responsibility, more client exposure, and more opportunity. If you want to learn, we are willing to teach. Outside of busy season, the role typically starts at approximately 10–15 hours per week, with increased hours during peak tax season. This is not a capped position. Workload and responsibility can scale based on performance, availability, and interest.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare individual and business tax returns accurately and efficiently
• Analyze and interpret client-provided information for proper tax reporting
• Communicate directly with clients to answer questions and provide guidance
• Maintain organized, cloud-based client files and documentation
• Deliver responsive, professional client service
• Join the team in our office (Lake Norman, NC) for occasional meetings

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
• CPA preferred, but not required
• Minimum of 3 years of small business accounting experience
• Minimum of 3 years of individual tax preparation experience
• Experience with partnerships, corporations, and closely held entities is a plus
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Comfortable working in a cloud-based, paper-light environment
