Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania or compact state

• BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification required before first shift

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) Certification required before first shift

• Minimum 1 year of recent bedside clinical experience (2 years preferred)

• Experience in Med/Surg, medical-surgical, or rehabilitation nursing settings preferred
Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission

• Develop and implement individualized care plans with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams

• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in a timely manner

• Deliver direct patient care and participate in rehabilitation programs using the nursing process

• Initiate discharge planning and patient education from admission

• Communicate patient status changes to the healthcare team to ensure safety and continuity of care

• Supervise and delegate tasks to ancillary nursing staff

• Promote patient and staff safety by following hospital policies and procedures

• Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment

• Maintain open communication with management regarding supplies, equipment, and training needs

• Assume charge nurse duties as assigned

• Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing education
