Director, Women’s Services – Northeast Campus

Memorial Hermann Health System invites applications for the Director of Women’s Services at our Northeast campus. This leadership role oversees Labor & Delivery, Mother-Baby, Operating Room, NICU, and OB-ED departments, managing ~130 deliveries per month.

Job Summary

The Director will cultivate strong relationships with physicians, staff, and partners while ensuring exceptional patient experience and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a Level II Maternal Designation, proven program growth, and the ability to lead autonomously.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program;
    Master’s degree preferred.
  • Current Texas nursing license or temporary/compact license.
  • Professional certification in a clinical area or management within one year of hire preferred.
  • Five (5) years of progressive clinical experience; see attached table for Level I-IV.
Licenses / Certifications
  • Texas nursing license (current).
  • Professional certification in a clinical or management area preferred within one year.
Experience, Knowledge & Skills
  • Progressive clinical leadership experience.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • Data-driven decision making and continuous improvement focus.
Principal Accountabilities
  • Direct day-to-day operations for assigned patient care departments, maintaining 24/7 operational responsibility.
  • Review and approve all new hires and establish performance appraisal standards.
  • Work with service line leaders to establish departmental scope of service, goals, and strategic plans.
  • Monitor and direct all patient care activities and ensure patient experience excellence.
  • Perform regulatory compliance and Texas Board of Nursing requirements.
  • Promote physician input and communication throughout service line and patient care teams.
  • Ensure safe care to patients, staff, and visitors within budgetary specifications.
  • Support department-based goals and staff development through preceptor and mentor roles.
  • Demonstrate commitment to compassionate and personalized experiences aligned with Memorial Hermann standards.
  • Other duties as assigned within scope of practice and clinical competency.
