Job Description & How to Apply Below

A hands‑on polyurethane chemist is needed to advance the development and processing of polyurethane resin systems for high‑performance composite materials. This role sits at the intersection of research, quality, and production support, driving both new formulation development and ongoing system optimization. You’ll collaborate across teams to improve material performance in real‑world conditions — including extreme environments like high heat, moisture, and mechanical stress.

The work will influence how critical infrastructure is built and maintained, with a clear focus on durability, safety, and sustainability.

What You’ll Do
  • Develop, test, and refine polyurethane resin formulations used in composite structures
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to design and evaluate lab experiments with measurable outcomes
  • Run and interpret thermal, chemical, and mechanical characterization tests (DSC, FTIR, DMA, titration)
  • Validate raw materials and assess their impact on product quality and processing
  • Contribute to experimental documentation, including detailed lab notes and technical reports
  • Participate in equipment setup, calibration, and routine maintenance to ensure lab readiness
  • Follow and enforce lab safety protocols and environmental compliance standards
  • Stay informed on relevant industry advances, regulations, and sustainability practices
  • Support broader initiatives like sourcing low‑carbon materials and exploring recycling methods
What You Bring
  • A degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field
  • Experience working with polyurethane resin systems or polymer composites in a lab or manufacturing setting is REQUIRED
  • Proficiency with polymer characterization tools such as DSC, FTIR, DMA, and titration methods
  • Familiarity with physical testing techniques for composites (tensile, flexural, ILSS)
  • Ability to structure and execute experiments with clear hypotheses and measurable results
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills
  • Comfort working cross‑functionally with R&D, Quality, and Production teams
  • Attention to lab safety and best practices for testing environments
  • Awareness of sustainability topics related to polymers, such as low‑emission materials and recycling
  • Exposure to coatings, color science, or flammability testing is a bonus
Why It’s Worth a Conversation

This role gives you a chance to take ownership of resin systems that directly impact the safety, durability, and performance of critical infrastructure. Your work won’t live on a spreadsheet — it’ll be part of physical systems designed to withstand fire, wind, water, and time. You’ll join a small, close‑knit team where your voice is heard, and your contributions are visible.

If you’re energized by materials innovation, lab experimentation, and solving technical puzzles with long‑term value, this could be the next step worth exploring.
