ERCP Lead Nurse

The closing date is 24 March 2026

The Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) Specialist Nurse role offers an exciting opportunity to work collaboratively with the ERCP leads and endoscopists across all hospitals in Humber Health Partnership. The post holder will coordinate and deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care in response to inpatient and outpatient referrals for ERCP and related screening procedures within the Endoscopy Unit. Acting as a patient advocate, the ERCP Specialist Nurse will provide expert support throughout all stages of the patient journey, from pre‑assessment through to discharge, ensuring safe, effective and compassionate care at every step.

The post holder will provide advanced, specialist nursing care to a defined caseload of patients undergoing ERCP. Working autonomously and in close partnership with the multidisciplinary team, they will develop, implement and evaluate highly specialised, evidence‑based plans of care, ensuring patients and carers are fully informed and supported to participate in decision‑making. The role includes obtaining informed consent, communicating complex and sensitive information with compassion, coordinating referrals and follow‑up, and acting as a key point of contact throughout the patient pathway.

The post holder will work across all hospitals within the Humber Health Partnership, covering both North and South Bank sites, to ensure equitable and consistent delivery of the ERCP/Spy Glass service.

Main duties of the job

You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, managing a caseload of patients – primarily those requiring Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) or Spy Glass procedures. You will coordinate and deliver holistic, patient‑centred care to meet the needs of individuals referred to the ERCP/Spy Glass service through both medical and surgical pathways. Acting as a patient advocate, you will provide support and guidance throughout all stages of the procedure process.

The role will serve as an interface between medical and nursing disciplines, fostering collaboration and supporting the ongoing development of nursing practice. You will deliver advanced clinical care within the Endoscopy specialism through nurse‑led clinics and independent nurse prescribing, promoting timely interventions and seamless transitions between services and hospital Trusts. This post will require the applicant to cover all hospitals on North and South Bank.
