Abattoir Operative

Overview

Monday to Friday, 07:30 – 16:00 – with daily overtime required / until production finished

40hrs contract

Cranswick is a leading UK food producer with revenue approaching £2 Billion. We produce and supply premium food to high profile UK grocery retailers, the food service sector and other UK and global customers.

Successful candidates will play a key part in the production process, rotating around several different tasks within the department. We welcome applications from experienced slaughter operatives and knife holders.

• To assist abattoir supervisors in ensuring smooth running of day-to-day operations
• Ensure each product specification is followed and any anomalies reported
• Work towards department targets
• Always maintain product safety and quality standards
• Maintain clean and tidy work area

• Knife skills (highly desirable)
• Previous experience working in food production / manufacturing / butchery
• Factory / warehouse / labouring / chef experience also considered
• Willingness to learn all aspects of the role through training
• Strong work ethic
• Team player
• Physical stamina
• Recognise health and safety and animal welfare as a top priority
