Systems Administrator / Developer
Hull - Office based
Do you enjoy owning IT systems end to end rather than just firefighting tickets?
Are you comfortable switching between infrastructure support and hands-on development work?
Looking for a stable, office-based role where your technical input actually matters?
What's in it for you
• Up to £35,000 basic salary
• 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
• 5% pension scheme
• 37-hour week
o08:30-17:00 Monday to Thursday
o08:30-13:30 Friday
• Fully office based
What will you be doing?
• Managing and maintaining servers, networks, firewalls and core IT infrastructure
• Monitoring system performance, security, backups and storage
• Diagnosing and resolving hardware, software and network issues
• Developing internal business solutions using Python, SQL and web technologies
• Managing user accounts, permissions and group policies
• Supporting and improving the IT service desk function
• Producing reports and working with ERP systems
• Maintaining documentation, IT policies and security standards (ISO
27001 / Cyber Essentials)
• Supporting new starters with system access and inductions
Where you'll be doing it
You'll be joining a UK-based business with an established internal IT function. The role is hands-on and varied, covering infrastructure, support and development work in a professional office environment.
What you'll need
• Strong experience in a Windows Server environment
• Knowledge of Active Directory, Entra, networking and VLANs
• Programming experience with Python and SQL
• Working knowledge of HTML, CSS and Java Script
• Experience with Power Shell, Power BI / DAX and M365
• Experience producing Crystal Reports and working with ERP systems
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• A Computer Science, IT or related degree (or equivalent experience)
