Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 full-time HIV Specialist Nurse to join our established HIV nursing team within the Infectious Diseases Unit at Castle Hill Hospital. We seek an enthusiastic, motivated, adaptable individual.
Responsibilities- Work closely with the multidisciplinary team consisting of Specialist Nurses, Medical Staff, and Pharmacists caring for people living with HIV.
- Work flexibly to ensure a patient-focused service at all times.
- Work across multiple settings including outpatients, inpatient wards, community, outreach clinics, and home visits.
- Be based within a team but also able to work independently and autonomously.
- As the nurse specialist within the defined sphere of practice, provide specialist knowledge and care to patients living with HIV within the wider region, with support and guidance.
- Often act as the first point of contact for patients and other medical teams; play a key role in coordinating members of the multidisciplinary team; undertake independent review of patients as required to ensure the effective delivery of care.
- With support from the HIV consultants, provide specialist advice, education and ongoing support to all patients in the region living with HIV.
- As part of the HIV Network, provide support and guidance to care for patients living with HIV.
