Interim Head of Finance

We are hiring for our client, a well-established organisation in the charity sector , who are seeking to appoint an Interim Head of Finance for a 9-month contract based in the Newry area . This Interim Head of Finance role offers the opportunity to take ownership of the finance function during a key period for the organisation, supporting the Senior Leadership Team and Board with high-quality financial insight and strategic analysis.

The successful Interim Head of Finance will lead financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting processes while ensuring strong financial governance and compliance across the organisation.

This role offers excellent flexibility including hybrid working and the option of a 4 or 5 day week , making it a particularly attractive contract opportunity for experienced finance leaders. The Role:

As Interim Head of Finance , you will:
* Lead the finance function including management of a direct report and wider finance team
* Lead reporting of financial performance and management accounts to the Senior Leadership Team and Board of Trustees
* Provide financial and commercial analysis including risk assessment to Board sub-committees (Resources and Audit & Risk Committees)
* Support the Senior Management Team with scenario planning and financial insights to support decision making
* Develop enhanced financial information and analytics to support strategic and operational objectives
* Contribute financial expertise to key strategic projects ensuring financial and compliance impacts are fully understood
* Lead the preparation of timely and accurate monthly and annual accounts and statutory returns
* Lead the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes including variance analysis and reporting

The Person :
* Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
* Strong leadership experience within a finance function
* Proven experience preparing management accounts, budgets and forecasts
* Experience presenting financial information to senior leadership teams or boards
* Strong analytical and commercial skills with the ability to support strategic decision making
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills The Rewards:
