The Role

This position supports bid and sales teams by providing cost information for new business proposals, aiding project delivery, and procurement of subcontracts and equipment.

Key Activities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to lead supplier selection and contract awards.
  • Assist the Bid Team with cost data for proposals.
  • Support operational teams during project execution.
  • Conduct tender analysis and define evaluation criteria.
  • Lead negotiations and define strategies.
  • Create and manage procurement plans for major projects.
  • Review subcontracts with legal support.
  • Manage relationships with subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring performance in terms of time, quality, and costs.
  • Ensure compliance with Bilfinger SE standards across departments.
  • Track contract commitments and manage change orders.
  • Monitor KPIs and evaluate capital and revenue options for decision-making.
  • Experience & Qualifications
  • Proven experience in a senior purchasing role, preferably in a project environment.
  • Knowledge of procurement systems and contract forms such as NEC3, MF1, ICHEME.
  • Understanding of plant and equipment management and purchasing.
  • Experience with change management and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work under pressure within a project team.
  • Membership of a professional body (essential).
  • Postgraduate or professional purchasing/management qualification (preferred).
