Overview
Location:
Hull with travel around North England. We are looking for hands-on, quick-thinking Wind Turbine Technicians to keep our turbines spinning smoothly. The role involves onshore wind farm visits, routine inspections, troubleshooting, and timely repairs to minimize downtime.
- Carry out routine inspections of wind turbines and perform simple fixes or deeper mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical work as needed.
- Troubleshoot issues to prevent downtime, log all work meticulously, and participate in special projects (e.g., introducing new turbines or replacing major components).
- Communicate clearly with customers on-site, keeping them informed about progress and status.
- Perform urgent repairs when required, swapping out parts and restoring operation efficiently.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and control room teams to monitor turbines and identify opportunities for performance improvements.
Prioritize safety at all times. Follow safety protocols, identify hazards, ensure all nuts, bolts, blades, and components are properly installed, and verify that turbines operate safely and effectively.
RequirementsWhat You’ll Need to Soar:
- A valid driver’s license.
- A high school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training is a plus.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems in wind turbines.
- Ability to work at heights and in all weather conditions.
- Experience in maintenance and repair, preferably in renewable energy.
- Proficiency with technical manuals, diagnostic tools, and equipment.
- Commitment to safety.
