We are seeking an experienced Heavy Truck Mechanic to join our concrete construction company and maintain our fleet of light trucks, flatbed trucks, knuckle boom trucks, and construction equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong diagnostic skills, hands-on experience with diesel engines and hydraulic systems, and a commitment to keeping our fleet running safely and efficiently to support our concrete installation projects.
* Key Responsibilities
* * Perform comprehensive inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on light trucks, class 7 and 8 trucks, knuckle boom trucks, skid steers, and other construction fleet vehicles
* Diagnose and repair gas and diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, air brake systems, and electrical systems
* Service and maintain hydraulic systems, PTO systems, and electrical systems. Perform preventive maintenance on construction equipment including concrete finishing equipment, compactors, and material handling equipment
* Conduct DOT inspections and ensure all vehicles meet federal and state safety regulations
* Perform welding and fabrication work as needed for repairs
* Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work completed
* Help to manage parts inventory
* Respond to job site breakdowns and perform emergency repairs to minimize project delays
* Collaborate with operators, foremen, and project managers to minimize equipment downtime
* Keep work area clean, organized, and safe
* Required Qualifications
* * High school diploma or equivalent
* 3-5 years of experience as a heavy truck or diesel mechanic, preferably in construction industry
* Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and air brake systems
* Experience with hydraulic systems and PTO operations
* Ability to use diagnostic equipment and tools effectively
* Valid driver's license; CDL preferred
* DOT inspection certification or ability to obtain
* Own basic hand tools
* Preferred Qualifications
* * ASE certifications (T-series for medium/heavy trucks)
* Experience with Kenworth, Sterling, International, and similar heavy truck brands
* Experience with Bobcat and other construction equipment
* Welding and fabrication xrlwcon skills
* Previous experience in concrete construction, paving, or similar heavy civil construction
* Physical Requirements
* * Ability to lift up to 75 pounds regularly
* Comfortable working in various weather conditions
* Able to stand, bend, kneel, and work in tight spaces for extended periods
* Willing to work occasional overtime, weekends, or on-call shifts as needed

Pay: $32.00 - $42.00 per hour
