Position OverviewOur client is a successful, boutique wealth management firm seeking a Financial Planning Associate who plays a critical role in bridging financial planning strategy and operational execution. This position is responsible for implementing financial planning recommendations, managing planning-related workflows, and ensuring seamless coordination between advisors, operations, and custodial platforms. Key Responsibilities- Assist in the preparation and implementation of comprehensive financial plans
- Gather, input, and maintain accurate client data within financial planning tools
- Manage financial plan recommendation checklists and update CRM records accordingly
- Execute back-end processes required to implement advisor recommendations
- Support account openings, rollovers, transfers, and onboarding activities
- Process non-discretionary trades as directed by Lead Advisors or investment strategy
- Coordinate asset movements including ACHs, wires, and internal journals
- Partner with Lead Advisors to ensure timely and accurate implementation of planning strategies
- Stay current on planning tools, tax considerations, and industry best practices
- Maintain progress toward relevant professional designations, as applicable
- Prepare, track, and process client paperwork via Docu Sign and traditional mail
- Own task flow within custodial systems, including work baskets, transfers, and cash exceptions
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records within the CRM
- Monitor planning and portfolio tools for updates, changes, and drift
- Collaborate cross-functionally with compliance, billing, and trading teams as needed
- Provide tactical support to Lead and Associate Advisors on plan execution
- Assist with coordination between Financial Planning and Investment Operations teams
- Identify workflow inefficiencies and proactively recommend process improvements
- Contribute to a high-functioning, detail-driven team culture
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or a related field
- Series 65 license or ChFC or CFP designation
- 3+ years of experience in financial services, planning support, or investment operations
- Experience with Pershing, NetX
360+, or similar custodial platforms preferred - Experience with CRM systems
- Working knowledge of investment products and asset classes
- Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams
- Familiarity with financial planning and portfolio software (e.g., eMoney, Black Diamond, Holistiplan, Pontera)
- Technologically proficient with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems
