PositionThe Grind Operator will be responsible for setting up and operating centerless grinding machines to produce high-quality metal components with accuracy and consistency. This is a hands-on production role in a small, team-oriented environment that values collaboration and precision craftsmanship.
Key Responsibilities- Set up and operate centerless grinders to grind metal work pieces to exact specifications.
- Monitor machine operations and make necessary adjustments; stop machines when issues arise.
- Select, mount, and balance grinding wheels using hand tools and knowledge of abrasives.
- Inspect and measure finished parts, setting aside defective components.
- Perform basic maintenance such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn parts.
- Use micrometers, gauges, and other measuring tools to ensure accuracy and tolerances.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2+ years of relevant experience (grinding, machining, or similar).
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Ability to compute measurements and make precise adjustments.
- Experience reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics.
- Background in automotive or manufacturing environments.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Dependable, detail-oriented, and mechanically skilled.
- Hands-on training provided at the Michigan facility during the startup phase.
