Position Overview

The Grind Operator will be responsible for setting up and operating centerless grinding machines to produce high-quality metal components with accuracy and consistency. This is a hands‑on production role in a small, team‑oriented environment that values collaboration and precision craftsmanship.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate centerless grinders to grind metal work pieces to exact specifications.
  • Monitor machine operations and make necessary adjustments; stop machines when issues arise.
  • Select, mount, and balance grinding wheels using hand tools and knowledge of abrasives.
  • Inspect and measure finished parts, setting aside defective components.
  • Perform basic maintenance such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn parts.
  • Use micrometers, gauges, and other measuring tools to ensure accuracy and tolerances.
Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience (grinding, machining, or similar).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Ability to compute measurements and make precise adjustments.

Preferred:

  • Experience reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics.
  • Background in automotive or manufacturing environments.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Dependable, detail‑oriented, and mechanically skilled.
