RoleWe are seeking a skilled and customer‑focused In‑Plant Jr. Operator to help support our on‑site color matching and ink preparation operations. This role involves custom color formulation, lab proof creation, and press‑side technical support to ensure inks meet exact customer specifications. You will be responsible for mixing base colors and vehicles, managing ink inventory, and recycling returned inks. The ideal candidate will actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing productivity and customer satisfaction.
Duties & Responsibilities- Perform on‑site custom color matching, including preparation of professional lab proofs for customer approval.
- Provide press‑side technical services to troubleshoot and support production runs.
- Blend and mix base colors and vehicles to produce inks that meet specific color and performance standards.
- Oversee inventory control, including recycling of returned inks from press operations.
- Participate in Customer‑Focused Process Improvement (CFPI) initiatives to drive efficiency and profitability.
- Maintain quality and safety standards while working day shift hours, with occasional flexible or on‑call support.
- Constant communication with employees, peers, managers.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
- Basic knowledge of experience in color matching.
- Basic knowledge of handling inks, including preparation, mixing, and recycling.
- Strong customer focus and commitment to meeting client specifications and deadlines.
- Willingness to work flexible hours as needed and provide on‑call technical support.
- High School Diploma/ GED or equivalent.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- 30% office based; ability to sit for prolonged periods of time.
- 70% standing/walking, climbing, bending, twisting, reaching.
- May be required to work outside of normal working hours to meet the needs of production.
- Must work in accordance with Health and Safety regulations, Company Rules, Plant Rules, policies and procedures.
